What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at State Hwy 3 and Kingston Rd in Benton, LA on July 4th, 2024. Officials are saying the incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Authorities say 66-year-old Donald Ward was operating a lawn mower at his residence when the trailer attached to a Chevrolet Silverado passing by the area detached. Reports say the trailer, which authorities alleged was improperly secured, made contact with Ward after exiting the roadway, seriously injuring Ward. Source say War was taken to an area hospital with injuries he died from on July 14th. Police say the driver of the Silverado was identified as 48-year-old Mark Foy.
