What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman at LA Hwy 16 in St Helena Parish, LA on July 27th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. According to investigators, a passenger vehicle occupied by 80-year-old Frances Johnson was previously at a stop sign before pilling into the McDaniel Rd intersection. From there, police say the vehicle was struck by a Peterbilt 567, which struck the side of the vehicle. It was not made clear by officials which vehicle had right-of-way. Johnson was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were fatal. Additional information was not available.
