What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at State Hwy 106 in Evangeline Parish, LA on September 7th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 8 a.m. An 18-wheeler pulling a logging trailer was backing into a construction site when a vehicle operated by 19-year-old Luke Fontenot collided with the truck. It then caused both vehicles to catch fire and Fontenot was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
