What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed two people at I-10 near Laplace, LA on March 25th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. According to police, a Ford F-550 operated by 27-year-old Brandon Cedotal is said to have lost control before it crashed and became disabled in a median. The vehicle was still partially in a left lane of travel as a BMW 328 approached. The car is said to have collided with the rear of the truck before it was also struck by an approaching Ford F-150. The collision is said to have caused fatal injuries to the driver of the BMW, 18-year-old Seamus Cassidy and 32-year-old Oger Mejia-Puentes. Police say Cedotal was not injured. Additional details have not been shared.
