What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash involving a school bus that left five people injured at West Tyler Rd and Ely Hwy in Arcada Twp, MI on January 4th, 2022. Police say it happened around 7:15. A pickup truck headed westbound on Tyler Rd is accused of failing to stop st the intersection with Ely Highway, causing it to be struck by a school bus. The bus, operated by a 54-year-old Breckenridge woman, had four students aboard at the time and three of them were hospitalized with minor injuries. The Breckinridge woman was also hospitalized with minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, a 30-year-old St Louis man, was hospitalized in critical condition. Police had no additional details to share.
