What Happened

State Police have information on a crash that killed a woman at US 131 in Grand Rapids, MI on March 27th, 2022. They say it involved a vehicle operated by a 22-year-old Grand Rapids woman traveling against traffic on the freeway when it collided with a vehicle occupied by 21-year-old Willow Yon. After they collided, a tanker truck side-swiped both vehicles, severely injuring both drivers. Both Yon and the other driver were hospitalized with injuries that Yon later died from. The truck driver was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
