What Happened

Mississippi Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at  I-22 near Byhalia, MS on September 16th, 2021. Police say it happened around 5:30 a.m. A Jeep Compass operated by 38-year-old David H Austin was reportedly entering onto I-22 from the shoulder when it collided with a passing semi-truck. Both vehicles veered into a median and a fire started between them. Austin was taken to an area hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not available.
