Platte County Sheriff's Office authorities are investigating a crash that injured a moped driver at US Hwy 30 and E 18th Ave in Platte County, NE on February 8th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:14 p.m. A westbound tractor-trailer pulling an empty livestock trailer is said to have collided with a pedestrian traveling on a moped under unclear circumstances. The moped driver, 27-year-old Miachael Veenendaal, was hospitalized in critical condition. The truck driver, 57-year-old Andy Bredthauer, was not injured.
