What Happened

Las Vegas Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at East Lake Mead Blvd and Walnut Rd in Las Vegas, NV on September 16th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7 a.m. A box truck operated by Derek Herman reportedly ran a red light at an intersection, colliding with two other vehicles. A 15-year-old child that was front seat passenger in one of the vehicles that was struck, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Herman was charged with DUI and Failure to Obey a Red Traffic Light.
