What Happened

State Police are reporting a detached trailer led to a crash that injured driver at Route 10 in Swanzey, NH on March 21st, 2023. Officials say it happened around 6 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by 37-year-old Joseph Hussey was headed southbound following pulling out of a nearby gas station. Somehow, its trailer detached and crossed onto the northbound side of the road, blocking all three travel lanes. As a dump truck operated by 65-year-old Gregory Patnode approached, authorities say it collided with the trailer. Shortly after, an approaching Ford SUV operated by 68-year-old Rose Henderson, collided with the dump truck. Police say Henderson had non-life-threatening injuries from the collision while the other two drivers allegedly declined to be taken to an area hospital for treatment. There was no additional information available to share.
