What Happened

State Police identified the man killed in a pedestrian accident at Franklin Ave and Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square, NY on November 16th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:05 a.m. 86-year-old Alfred Piretto was struck bu a box truck while at the intersection of Franklin and the Hempstead Turnpike. He was taken to an area hospital with major injuries that he later died from. Investigators say the box truck driver remained at the scene for police to arrive.
