What Happened

Area authorities have information on a crash that killed a bicyclist at Liberty Ave and Van Wick Expressway in Queens, NY on November 24th, 2022. Police say the incident happened as 43-year-old Naheed Nazi was traveling via bicycle. As a nearby tractor-trailer was attempting to turn left onto the expressway from Liberty Ave, to struck Nazi, ejecting her from the bicycle and into the undercarriage of the truck as it continued to travel before coming to a stop. Nazi suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The driver and truck involved did not remain at the scene for police. Additional details were not provided.
