What Happened

New York State Police are investigating a crash that killed one person and injured four others at Perry Rd and Route 36 in Mount Morris, NY on April 13th, 2022. According to investigators, an SUV operated by 65-year-old Abu Karim was headed northbound on Route 36 when it turned onto the path of a southbound semi-truck near Perry Rd. The SUV and truck collided, pushing it into another vehicle stopped at the intersection and ejecting the rear seat passengers. 58-year-old Syed Ullah suffered fatal injuries at the scene. 47-year-old Chowdhury Mujahid suffered life-threatening injuries. Karim and two others were hospitalized with minor injuries. The other two drivers involved were not injured. Police say Karim was cited for failure to yield.
