What Happened

New York Police identified the teen killed in a collision at Route 96 and Brewer Rd in Waterloo, NY on September 10th, 2021. Police say it happened when a car operated by 18-year-old Daryannos Marco Kinney passed a northbound stop sign and was struck by a dump truck and another vehicle. A back seat passenger, 18-year-old Veronica Ashby, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Kinney was hospitalized with minor injuries while a front seat passenger, 19-year-old Mekhi Bennett, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The other drivers were not injured.
