What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 70 and Jim Sutton Rd in Lenoir County, NC on April 29th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. According to investigators, a truck towing a trailer is alleged to have failed to slow for stopped traffic prior to rear-ending a stopped passenger car and creating a chain reaction crash. Authorities say the driver of the stopped car, who was not publicly identified, was hospitalized with alleged serious injuries. Five additional individuals involved were also hospitalized with injuries believed to be less serious in nature.
