What Happened

State Police are investigating a collision that killed two people at US Hwy 52 and Ziglar Rd in Winston-Salem, NC on August 27th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:30 a.m. According to investigators, two vehicles were stopped in a southbound lane of traffic, both drivers having exited their vehicles. Investigators did not state the reason or suspected reason for the two people, identified as 31-year-old Heather Singleton and 30-year--old Elizabeth Goins, to be outside their vehicles. Police say a tractor-trailer struck Goins' vehicle before hitting Goins and Singleton. Both suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The truck driver remained at the scene.
