What Happened

North Carolina Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at I-95 in Halifax County, NC on October 25th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:45 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Equinox was stopped for unknown reasons in a travel lane before it was struck by an approaching semi-truck. The collision caused the Chevrolet to overturn into a guardrail, killing the driver, identified as 24-year-old Kenrod Dabreo. A passenger, identified as 45-year-old LaKisha Dixon, also died. Another passenger, identified as 49-year-old Tonya Lewis was hospitalized along with 20-year-old Donte Smith and 22-year-old Deshawn Dixon. Additional details were not yet available.
