What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 20 in Metamora, OH on July 27th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 8:51 a.m. A motorhome operated by 67-year-old James Dye lost control as it approached stopped traffic in an eastbound travel lane. The vehicle veered to the right side of the road to avoid a collision and overcorrected, eventually colliding head-on with a box truck operated by 45-year-old Forrest Ream. Dye was hospitalized with serious injuries. Ream was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. Police say both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
