What Happened

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at Route 303 in Shalersville, OH on January 27th, 2022. They say the incident happened when a garbage truck allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign during a turn. The truck is said to have collided with the rear of an eastbound Ford Edge occupied by 80-year-old Linda Baker. The impact forced the Ford from the road and caused it to overturn, causing Baker serious injuries she was hospitalized for. She died shortly after arriving. The driver of the Ford, 86-year-old John T. Gladish, was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The garbage truck driver, 36-year-old James M. Willis, was reportedly uninjured.
