What Happened

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at State Route 57 in Elyria, OH on September 23rd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. A semi-truck operated by 57-year-old Kenneth Burdick is accused of crossing into southbound lanes and colliding with a Dodge Caravan. It also struck a Cadillac SRX and Volkswagen Atlas. The driver and passenger of the Caravan, 68-year-old Stephanie Bays and 46-year-old Betsy Bays  died at the scene. The other drivers were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
