Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-80 in Jefferson County, PA on October 22nd, 2023. Police are saying it happened around 4:23 a.m. According to investigators, a minivan was allegedly disabled from an earlier crash. It was not stated if the van was in or near a lane of travel at the time. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Mateus Sanchez Rodrigues was reportedly standing outside the vehicle as a tractor-trailer approached. Officials say a pair of approaching tractor-trailers veered to the right before colliding with the van and Rodrigues. Rodrigues suffered fatal injuries, officials say. The driver and a passenger of the one of the trucks reportedly refused hospital transport. Additional information was not available.
