State Police are currently investigating a collision involving a school bus that killed a teen at I-79 in Butler County, PA on November 2nd, 2021. They say the incident happened as both a school bus and tractor-trailer were headed northbound on the interstate. The bus is said to have collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer for unknown reasons and the 31-year-old bus driver, Lindsay Thompkins, and a 14-year-old girl on the bus died. Five other students were hospitalized with minor injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. Investigators suggested the possibility of the school bus traveling at an unsafe speed to create the collision circumstances. Additional information was not immediately available.
