Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at Hwy 9 and Cedar Branch Rd in Horry County, SC on October 3rd, 2022. Officials say the incident happened around 6:35 a.m. According to investigators, a pickup truck headed southbound on Hwy 9 collided with a school bus entering Hwy 9 from Cedar Branch Rd. The cause of the collision was not stated. The driver of the pickup truck, 37-year-old Kody Roach, died at the scene. 7 students were aboard the bus at the time of the collision, however, it was not stated if they or the driver were injured.
