What Happened

North Charleston Police Department officials are investigating a crash that killed one person at Meeting St in Charleston County, SC on April 27th, 2025. Reports say the incident happened around 4:55 p.m. According to investigators, a U-Haul box truck is alleged to have been attempting to flee authorities while headed northbound in a southbound lane before striking two pedestrians and a Mercedes-Benz. That collision caused the Mercedes-Benz to collide with a Honda motorcycle and Chevrolet Tahoe. One of the two motorcycle occupants, who was not publicly identified, was fatally injured. Seven others, including the pedestrians, the Mercedes-Benz occupants and both other drivers. Officials did not have additional information available.
