What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured multiple people at FM 2187 in Austin County, TX on September 9th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:20 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet 3500 operated by a 32-year-old Alvord, TX woman was headed westbound on FM 2187 before driving onto an incorrect side of the road to avoid a collision with a vehicle ahead slowing to make a turn. The Chevrolet crossed a striped lined and collided with a Ford F-350 operated by a 36-year-old Cat Spring man. The crash caused serious injuries to the Cat Spring man, identified as Alberto Garcia Balderas and a 38-year-old passenger, identified as Cesar Egovail. Two additional passengers as well as the driver of the Chevrolet were all evaluated for possible injuries.
