What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured multiple people at Plum Grove Rd in Harris County, TX on May 26th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 12:25 p.m. According to investigators. a Honda Accord was eastbound when an object in the vehicle is alleged to have fallen near the drive pedals, blocking the braking pedal. As a result, reports say the vehicle was unable to come to a stop in order to avoid striking a vehicle ahead stopping to make a turn. The vehicles collided and the impact is said to have sent the second vehicle, a Fiat 500, into the path of an approaching Honda Accord, causing those vehicles to collide. Reports say the driver of the Fiat, identified as 20-year-old Alexis Hankins, was seriously injured. Also seriously injured was 27-year-old Honda operator, Cesar Gutierrez-Rojas and 22-year-old passenger, Daisy Puebla. Reports say the Nissan operator, who was not publicly identified, had alleged minor injuries and was cited in connection with the crash.
