What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Sam Houston Pkwy in Houston, TX on May 19th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:40 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 39-year-old Houston man was in a westbound turn lane while a Lexus RC was in an adjacent left turn lane. The Lexus reportedly began turning left when the tractor-trailer failed to yield and traveled straight. It then collided with the Lexus before going across a median and colliding with a Chevrolet 5500XD. 39-year-old Amber Linda Deanda suffered serious injuries. The other drivers were not injured. Reports indicate the Houston man was cited for Disregarding Traffic Control Device and Failure to Control Speed.
