What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed three people at Hwy 175 and FM 1389 in Seagoville, TX on August 7th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:07 a.m. According to authorities, a Chevrolet fled after police attempted to stop the vehicle as it traveled the wrong direction. After entering Hwy 175, the vehicle collided with a Toyota sedan with two adults and a child as occupants. Police say the collision was severe enough that all three individuals suffered fatal injuries. They were lated identified as 49-year-old Ana Guzman, 23-year-old Jessica Guzman and a 2-year-old child. The driver of the other vehicle was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries and investigators suspect alcohol played a factor in the crash. Police later arrested 25-year-old Jose Contreras on three counts of manslaughter. Also involved, police say, was 30-year-old James Gaddis, whose vehicle police say struck the Toyota before leaving the scene.
