What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Georgetown Rd and Russwood Dr in Grayson County, TX on September 6th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:55 a.m. A Dodge Ram operated by 29-year-old Andrew Eugene Short was headed eastbound on Georgetown Rd when it veered from the road at a curve. Investigators say the truck was traveling at a speed that was unsafe for the curve and after it veered from the road, it struck an electrical pole, tree and fence. Short was seriously injured and, according to responding officers, suspected for being intoxicated. He was issued and Unsafe Speed citation hospitalized for treatment.
