What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at FM 2540 in Matagorda County, TX on May 29th, 2022.  Police say the incident happened around 1:34 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Tacoma operated by 21-year-old Anthony Janke Jr was headed southbound on Fm 2540 when it veered to the right side of the road. The vehicle then lost control and slid into a barrow ditch, leaving both Janke and a 20-year-old passenger with serious injuries. Both occupants were hospitalized and reports indicate an Intoxication Assault charge was recommended and/or issued against Janke.
