What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at Garfield St in Del Rio, TX on May 20th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:09 p.m. Investigators are saying a Volkswagen Passat operate day 82-year-old Rafael Rodriguez Castillo was headed westbound on Garfield St making a left turn onto Johnson St before colliding with a an eastbound Ford Taurus operated by 26-year-old Armando Salazar. Castillo suffered minor injuries while a passenger in the Volkswagen, identified as 83-year-old Antolina Castillo, was killed. Salazar was evaluated for possible injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
