Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-10 in Jefferson County, TX on August 30th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:10 p.m. According to investigators, a Kia Rio headed eastbound on I-10 is alleged to have veered from its lane for unclear reasons, into a nearby improved shoulder. There, reports say the vehicle made contact with the guardrail, part of while impacted the front windshield of the vehicle. Officials say the driver, identified as 30-year-old Ariana Pitts, was struck by the guardrail as the vehicle spun into a barrow ditch, it catching fire as a result. Pitts was fatally injured in the crash. Additional information was not available.
