What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officers have information on a crash that injured multiple people at Chavez FM 79 in Paris, TX on December 9th, 2021. They report the crash happening around 6:15 a.m. and say it involved a tractor-trailer and Chevrolet Silverado. The tractor-trailer, operated by a 49-year-old Sulphur Springs man, was reportedly stopped in the roadway blocking both lanes of traffic as it waited to turn westbound onto NW Loop 286. The Chevrolet, operated by 34-year-old Armando Ramirez Chavez, was headed eastbound before it collided with the tractor-trailer. Chavez and a 38-year-old male passenger were seriously injured in the collision. Two other passengers, ages 37 and 26, were less seriously injured. The Sulphur Springs man was reportedly uninjured and reports indicate that officers recommended and/or issued a charge of Failure to Yield Right of Way-Private Drive.
