What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that killed a person at US 87 in Victoria County, TX on January 13th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:46 p.m. and began with a GMC SUV traveling in the opposite direction of traffic. A Toyota passenger vehicle then collided with the front of the SUV and the driver of the GMC, identified as 65-year-old Arnold Sanchez, died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, 17-year-old Kaylee Ann McCaskill and her front seat passenger, 37-year-old Christine Saenz, were both hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Also hospitalized were two child passengers, ages 6 and 7. Additional information was not available.
