What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at Redwood Rd in Hays County, TX on July 12th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:42 p.m. A Kia Soul operated by 27-year-old Audrey Rae Pierce was headed southeast on Redwood behind a Chrysler Town & Country operated by 49-year-old Susan Harwood. The Kia failed to control its speed and struck the rear of the Chrysler. Responding officers allege that Pierce, who suffered serious injuries, was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Harwood was not seriously injured. Police issued Pierce a Driving While Intoxicated charge.
