What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 59 in Polk County, TX on January 19th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:32 p.m. Investigators say a Dodge Ram 2500 operated by 37-year-old Austin Grimes was headed northbound on US 59 when it veered from the road. It then over corrected and struck a concrete culvert before going airborne, landing and rolling sideways. Responding officers say Grimes allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol and note that he suffered serious injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
