Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a woman at I-20 in Midland, TX on September 23rd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:08 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 62-year-old male reportedly failed to control its speed as traffic ahead slowed and collided with the rear of a Lexus RX 350 operated by 70-year-old Betty Chitwood. The Lexus was forced into a center median cable barrier while the truck veered left into the barrier. Chitwood suffered serious injuries in the collision. The truck driver was not injured and cited for Failure to Control Speed.
