What Happened

Police have information on a crash that killed one person involved at US 83 in Hawley, TX on October 16th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:43 a.m. According to investigators, a Kia Seltos headed eastbound on FM 605 is alleged to have allegedly missed a posted stop sign before entering into southbound US 83 at the intersection with US 83. Reports say the vehicle collided with a Nissan Maxima, the impact causing the Kia to overturn. Officials say the driver of the Kia, identified as 78-year-old Bonnie Kinard, was fatally injured. Authorities did not have additional information was not immediately available.
