What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at East Sam Houston Pkwy in Harris County, TX on June 2nd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 6:56 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Camaro is alleged to have run a red traffic signal prior to colliding with a Toyota Camry at an intersection. Authorities say the collision cause the Camaro to rotate into a nearby traffic signal pole, causing the vehicle to catch fire. Its occupants, including 19-year-old driver, Braulio Tames and a 17-year-old passenger, were both unable to exit the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The condition of the driver of the Toyota was not revealed. Additional information was not immediately available.
