What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at State Hwy 6 in Haskell County, TX on July 24th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:59 a.m. According to investigators, a Lincoln MKX operated by a 20-year-old Knox City man was headed northbound when it veered onto an oncoming lane. It then veered right while attempting to correct and went into a skid. It then stuck an embankment and tree before going into a ditch. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 22-year-old Britney Hawkins, suffered minor injuries. The driver was more seriously injured and reports indicate a charge of Driving While Intoxicated was recommended and/or issued.
