What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at US Hwy 90 in Liberty, TX on June 12th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 10:57 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Cobalt operated by 19-year-old Bryant Brown Jr was headed westbound on Hwy 90 while a GMC Yukon operated by 43-year-old Roxie Solomon was headed eastbound. Investigators say the Cobalt entered into the eastbound lanes while allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed while passing vehicles before it lost control while attempting to pass an 18-wheeler. It then collided with the Yukon, trapping Brown in the vehicle, which caught fire in the collision. Brown suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Solomon suffered serious injuries.
