What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed three people at State Hwy 155 in Berryville, TX on April 18th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 4:56 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Fusion is alleged to have failed to yield while exiting a private drive. It was struck by an approaching Honda Accord before it was next struck by a Hyundai Elantra. The impact is said to have caused fatal injuries to 71-year-old Elantra passenger, Carol Mitchell. Also killed was 84-year-old Fusion operator, Douglass Norwood and 78-year-old passenger Janet Norwood. The driver of the Elantra, 33-year-old Cassandra Tait had minor injuries, reports say, as did 54-year-old passenger, Lisa Crawford. The drive of the Accord, identified as 42-year-old Srikar Mapakshi, also had minor injuries, reports say. Additional information was not available.
