What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured three people at Loop 336 in Conroe, TX on June 4th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:18 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Rav4 operated by 34-year-old Carlos Garza was headed eastbound when it collided with a Toyota Tacoma operated by 76-year-old Cecil Loveless. Police say the Tacoma stopped at the intersection for an emergency vehicle prior to the collision, which left both drivers with serious injuries that Loveless later died from. A passenger in the Tacoma, identified as 76-year-old Rita Loveless, was also seriously injured. Officers expressed suspicion that Garza was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
