What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety Officials identified the person killed in a collision at FM 2257 in Reno, TX on September 14th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:10 p.m. A Ford Fusion operated by 19-year-old Alexander Waiter was headed northbound on FM 2257, when, according to Waite, a deer ran into the path of the Ford. The Ford then veered into a southbound travel lane to avoid striking the deer and collided head-on with a motorcycle operated by 63-year-old Charles C Utley Jr. Utley suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Waite was not injured. Additional details were not available.
