What Happened

Garland Police are investigating a crash that killed a child at Castle Dr and Toler Rd in Garland, TX on September 9th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5 p.m. According to authorities, a vehicle headed northbound on Castle Dr reportedly crossed a center line and collided with a southbound SUV. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire and a child in the SUV, identified as 13-year-old Brooklyn Moran, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Her mother was hospitalized in critical condition while an additional 13-year-old occupant suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators allege the driver of the suspect vehicle, identified as 30-year-old Jeremy Spencer, was impaired at the time of the crash and arrested Spencer on two counts of intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter.
