Texas Department of Public Safety officials released details related to a crash that killed a child at I-20 in Canton, TX on January 12th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. An 18-wheeler is accused of failing to control its speed before it collided with the rear of a Ford Escape operated by 22-year-old Chassity Gantt. A 1-year-old child in the vehicle was hospitalized with injuries she died from the following day. A 2-year-old also in the vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries as was 22-year-old passenger Katanni C. Senegal. Gantt was treated for injuries at the scene. The 18-wheeler driver, identified as 55-year-old Robert Stanley, was not injured. Additional information was not available.
