What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at FM 1764 in Santa Fe, TX on October 7th, 2023. Police believe it happened around 4 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 21-year-old Trent Clarke was eastbound at the time, possibly traveling at a high rate of speed. Authorities allege the vehicle traveled over a curb, two of its wheels making contact with the grass on the other side. While attempting return to the road, police believe the vehicle began to slide across the road, hitting a curb on the opposite side of the road. From there, they say the vehicle overturned, striking a telephone and got into a roll, ejecting Clarke and a passenger from the vehicle. Police say both Clarke and his passenger, 22-year-old Christian DeLaCerda, were killed in the crash. Additional information was not available.
