What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at FM 691 in Sherman, TX on April 10th, 2023. Police say the incident involved a motorcycle and pickup truck colliding at the intersection with FM 1417. Investigators allege one of the vehicles may have run a red light prior to the collision. The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 40-year-old Christopher Brooks Cavender, was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. The driver of the truck, 57-year-old Rodney Ricketts, and two passengers, including 54-year-old Laurie Ann Gaddis, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
