What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Holly St in Atlanta, TX on July 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:37 a.m. A Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 25-year-old Collan Ross Hunt was headed westbound on Holly Street when it veered from the road. It struck a culvert at a private residence, causing it to overturned and land in the driveway before it caught fire. Hunt was able to pull himself to safety despite suffering from what police say were serious injuries. The officers also say a strong alcoholic odor was coming from Hunt and that they believed alcohol played a role in the crash.
