What Happened

Florida Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a mother at West Homosassa Trail in Citrus County, FL on March 12th, 2025. Police say a minivan operated by 50-year-old Crystal Jackson was headed eastbound when a westbound dump truck allegedly attempted to turn left into the path of the van. The two vehicles collided, the impact leaving Jackson fatally injured. Three children in the vehicle, ages 16, 15 and 12, all suffered injuries believed to be non-life-threatening in nature.
